Davit Kajaia from Team Georgia continued his momentum from Friday by topping Single-Make GT – Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Qualifying 1 on Saturday morning. However, the Georgian was disqualified post-session, therefore awarding the pole position to James Owen of Team United Kingdom.
Owen had finished behind Kajaia by only .043 seconds, with his fastest time of one minute, 42.362 posted at five minutes to go.
Following the disqualification and Owen’s ascension to first, it was Team Venezuela and driver Angelo Carlo Fontana Oliviero finishing in second place and Team Switzerland’s Christophe Hurni in third.
The field of Ferrari 296 Challenge racecars will return to the track on Saturday afternoon at 14:10 for Qualifying 2. Live timing will be available here.
