Honda’s hold on the top of the TCR charts continued Saturday morning, with Ignacio Montenegro from Team Argentina qualifying on pole position in a Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCR.
Montenegro’s time of one minute, 41.236 seconds gobbled up the lead only in the final five minutes, as a flurry of other drivers – including several CUPRA Leon VZ TCR competitors – took their turn in first place during the half-hour session.
Meanwhile, CUPRA did take second and third place with Raphael Reis of Team Brazil and Eric Gene Casanovas of Team Spain, respectively.
